Palm Isle News: NB Numeric Andrew Reynolds 933

Andrew Reynolds, known as “The Boss,” is a legendary figure in skateboarding, celebrated for his powerful style, massive pop, and iconic frontside flips. Born in 1978 in Lakeland, Florida, Reynolds turned pro in the mid-1990s with Birdhouse Skateboards before founding Baker Skateboards in 2000. His video parts—especially in The End, Baker 3, and Stay Gold—are regarded as some of the most influential in skate history. In 1998, he was named Thrasher Magazine’s Skater of the Year, cementing his status as one of the all-time greats.

Beyond his technical talent, Reynolds made a lasting impact on skateboarding through entrepreneurship and mentorship. He launched Bakerboys Distribution, which supports brands like Shake Junt and Deathwish, and he played a key role in founding Altamont Apparel. Through Baker, he’s helped shape the careers of countless skaters, including Kevin "Spanky" Long, Theotis Beasley, and Dustin Dollin. Reynolds has always championed individuality and raw style, creating a platform that continues to define skateboarding culture.

In his personal life, Reynolds has been open about overcoming addiction and embracing sobriety, becoming a model of growth and resilience within the skate community. He promotes mental wellness, meditation, and a clean lifestyle, often sharing these values publicly. A devoted father and still an active skater, he now rides for Vans and remains deeply involved in shaping the future of skateboarding through his creativity, humility, and unshakable passion for skating.

The New Balance Numeric 933 marks Andrew Reynolds' first signature model with the brand, blending his personal style with performance-driven design. Drawing inspiration from New Balance's iconic 990 and 993 running shoes, the 933 features a multi-textured upper composed of suede, mesh, and nylon, delivering both durability and a classic aesthetic. The shoe incorporates skate-specific enhancements such as ABZORB cushioning and NDurance rubber outsoles, providing the impact protection and grip essential for skateboarding.

Released on April 28, 2025, the Numeric 933 debuted in four colorways, including Black/Olive and Camel/Brown—each reflecting Reynolds' understated style. The design pays homage to his unconventional choice of skating in New Balance's 900 series runners, merging the comfort of running shoes with the demands of skateboarding.
