About the Nordic Skull Artwork:
The Viking skull for Per Welinder was illustrated by V.C. Johnson in 1984. The fang-bearing fantasy graphic was meant to reflect Per's Swedish roots. It was originally featured on his freestyle model without the rocky textured background, which was added in a 1986 update. In 1987, the full graphic was adapted for a street model as Per began performing freestyle/street demos. The 8th-century runes spell out Per’s name along with the background quote: "Seek and strive, push beyond with strength, yours not theirs, that is the key," a phrase conceived by Per. The graphic was also used on t-shirts and stickers.
